Walking on the Wild Side with Nature 2024 Series

In preparation for the iNaturalist City Nature Challenge 2024 (April 26th-April 29th) the San Antonio River Authority and the San Antonio River Foundation are organizing immersive nature walks to help the community discover unique flora and fauna of the riparian areas in the southern basin of San Antonio River.

Free iNaturalist app citizen scientist training will be provided.
All ages welcome.

Stem Density Efforts

SASPAMCO Paddling Trail Temporarily Closed

Staff have removed two large log jams just downstream of Helton Nature Park, keeping the southern portion of the SASPAMCO Paddling Trail temporarily closed. Staff are working to contact adjacent landowners to support a land-based removal solution.

The SASPAMCO paddling trail is open from River Crossing Park to Helton Nature Park.
*Please Note: Paddling Trail from Helton Nature Park to HWY 97 is still closed due to blockages.
