San Antonio River Authority to Conduct Mission Reach Prescribed Burn

WHAT: The San Antonio River Authority (River Authority) will be conducting a prescribed burn along the Mission Reach section of the San Antonio River Walk. Trail closures will be in place during the day and River Authority staff will redirect trail users. The attached map shows the five areas scheduled for the prescribed burn (i.e. burn units) and media observation locations.

The River Authority has contracted with Raven Environmental Services, Inc., and is in coordination with the San Antonio Fire Department, Bexar County, and the National Park Service for the prescribed burn. The schedule is subject to change based upon weather conditions.

WHEN:            Tuesday, October 22, 9 a.m.

WHO:              Justin Krobot, San Antonio River Authority Mission Reach Superintendent

                        Jordan E. Fowler, Licensed Certified and Insured Prescribed Burn, Manager with Raven Environmental Services, Inc.

WHERE:         Along the San Antonio River, between Southcross and SE Military Dr., beginning at the southernmost location – see attached map.

Acequia Trail Notice

The Acequia trail will have heavy traffic near MROC starting May 22nd until further notice. The SAWS Acequia project will be bringing in crews to work on the lift station site and across the street. There will have flaggers to stop traffic, please use caution.
