FLORESVILLE, TX— The San Antonio River Authority (River Authority) has announced it will host the 5th Annual Pecan Jubilee & Dessert Bake-Off Contest at John William Helton-San Antonio River Nature Park on Saturday, November 16 in Wilson County (15662 FM 775, Floresville, TX 78114) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

The event will feature a dessert bake-off where the community is encouraged to register and submit their favorite pecan-themed baked goods in the categories of pies, cakes, bars/brownies, cookies or breads. The contest is limited to a total of 50 entries. All registered baked goods will be judged by a panel of Wilson County elected officials and students from St. Phillip’s Culinary Arts program. The bake-off grand prize winner will receive a bake set ($300 value) courtesy of Walmart of Floresville.

This year, the River Authority has partnered with Wilson County Trade Days to provide a local farmers market as well as art and craft vendors. The jubilee will also feature pecan-themed activities, car show, games and rides, face painting, archery lessons, baking demonstrations provided by St. Phillip’s College, food trucks, hay rides and live musical entertainment by Big Cedar Fever, Marc Odom, and Madeline Victoria.
